![]() ![]() ![]() The Narragansett Bay Classroom (NBC) is a vehicle through which URI's Office of Marine Programs offers a variety of marine and environmental short courses, lectures, tours, field trips, interpretive programs, camps, and training opportunities for people of all ages. |

Field Trips - URI's outreach scientists lead educational field trips at a variety of locations within southern Rhode Island. Field trips explore local flora and fauna of the locations and offers participants a chance to become field scientists. | |||

Interpretive Programs - URI's outreach scientists lead educational interpretive programs featuring a variety of marine and environmental science topics. Interpretive programs can be presented at your school or location or at URI's Narragnasett Bay Campus. | |||

For Credit Science Courses
- Educators can earn graduate credits by taking Oceanography for
Educators (OCG 507, Fall semester) and/or Global Environmental Change
Education (OCG 508, Spring semester). Courses include marine science
and global change content in addition to developing inquiry-based
curriculum materials. |

Educator Training Opportunities
- The Office of Marine Programs holds educator trainings that involve
curriculum development and marine and environmental science content
training. |

Public Programs - OMP hosts public lectures and offers annual public beachcombing events, oceanography summer camps and historic walking tours. |

Volunteers
- Narragansett Bay Campus Volunteers are a group of individuals of all
ages who support the Graduate School of Oceanography and URI's marine
programs by helping with a variety of educational, administrative, and
logistical tasks that could not be accomplished without volunteer help.
We are looking for senior citizens, local residents, summer residents,
high school, and college students - anyone interested in being part of
what's happening at the URI Bay Campus. | |||
