Oceanography Explorers Camp

Youngsters entering grades 6-8 can participate in a unique and fun opportunity to learn oceanography during the summer. During this week-long day program, URI Outreach Scientists introduce campers to the basics of marine science and take them into the field each day to learn firsthand about our coastal environment. Camps meet from 9AM-3PM on URI's Narragansett Bay Campus and each fun-filled day includes a field trip to a coastal area in southern Rhode Island. Past field trips have included explorations of saltmarshes, beaches, rocky shores, research facilities and more. Campers will examine marine life from microscopic to macroscopic and experience a sampling trip aboard a coastal research vessel.

2009 Oceanography Explorers Camp will be held:

Monday, July 13th through Friday, July 17th
